Are People Finding It?

Hmmm, I hear you say "Well, yeah...I'm telling all my friends and my business card has the url on it." Here's another GREAT to you, some people don't even think about putting their website address on business cards.

What about a photo of yourself, got one on your website?

Some people think this is important and there are those who will never have one on their website. That's OK with me, I'm not going to say it's right or wrong. As you can see, I'm OK with it - that's me up top.

Now days many websites have audio, either MP3 music or Webinars. These are becoming very popular and convenient for both visitors and site owners. Affiliate marketers use these to give tutorials, I've listened and watched many - even picked up a few promotional pointers from them too!

What about Videos, do you use any?

YouTube was launched in 2005 and by year's end many enterprises were on board...making it one of the fastest growing websites on the Web. Mid year 2006 it was ranked as Alexa's 5th most popular website...with 100 million video clips being viewed daily. Marketers got creative and soon they were uploading videos about their websites and stuff they were earning money with.

Bottom Line for any business - be it online or offline - it needs customers. Window Shoppers might be the first ones though to visit your website. That's OK, if they like what they see word will spread because they will TELL others. Hasn't someone at some time recommended something to you? Same principle for websites! Now don't expect a rush of buyers - it will take time.

Promotional methods for your website can be Pay Per Click advertising, Classified Ads, Social Networks, Blogs and lots more. Naturally some methods will produce better results than others, that's just the nature of business. I myself use GPT industry programs, Safelists and Manual Traffic Exchanges. Any one or all of these type of programs can have thousands of members. I call my promotional technique 'Numbers' - meaning I advertise to MANY to get SOME responses. That's fine, those SOME are ones I did not have yesterday!!

Getting targeted website traffic is important. Think about it...when you are searching to buy printer ink, do you shop online for low-cost ink products or just go in town and purchase high-cost ink products from a local store? I've done both - online shopping usually provided the same ink products as the local store did...but for a lot LESS MONEY. In today's economy that's a good deal to me!

I know a few people that use Pay Per Click ad campaigns. The ads are product oriented, appearing only when a user searches for relative products. This is a Hit and Miss situation - people search for something and IF your PPC ad falls into their search category. Then IF your ad is in the TOP part of that category...it's an IF they BUY your product or service. The PPC world of advertising is very very competitive!
